My Reading Adventure During my time in this class, I took alot of time to slow down and understand the book I was reading. I got to look and analyize each story and character and find out how they were special! In this class I read 6 Books 1904 Pages And I blogged over 20 times. This class was a blessing during this chaotic semester. Thank you all for reading this blog and enjoying it. I sure did enjoy writing it. Perhaps I'll blog again in the future so. Until I see you again -Piper

The Rest of The Story- review

Image
Emma Saylor doesn’t remember a lot about her mother, who died when she was ten. But she does remember the stories her mom told her about the big lake that went on forever, with cold, clear water and mossy trees at the edges. Now it’s just Emma and her dad, and life is good, if a little predictable…until Emma is unexpectedly sent to spend the summer with her mother’s family—her grandmother and cousins she hasn’t seen since she was a little girl. When Emma arrives at North Lake, she realizes there are actually two very different communities there. Her mother grew up in working class North Lake, while her dad spent summers in the wealthier Lake North resort. The more time Emma spends there, the more it starts to feel like she is divided into two people as well. To her father, she is Emma. But to her new family, she is Saylor, the name her mother always called her. Then there’s Roo, the boy who was her very best friend when she was little. Roo holds the key to her family’s history, and slo

The Hunger Games (full series/movie review)

Image
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is one of only a few book series to have an amazing movie adaptions.  Coming straight out of the phase in Hollywood where every young adult dystopian novel got a movie adaption comes The Hunger Games.. probably the most successful out of the bunch (besides The Maze Runner series) This was because it took the books and didn't change much. It brought the world of the games, the capital and all of panem right onto our screens. It felt like the book sprung to life because it did. That's because of the excellent casting!  I believe that without the amazing cast it wouldn't have been as a success. I couldn't think of a better person to play Peeta or Katniss.  It doesnt help that the way the books are written translates beautifully into cinematic form. THEY ALSO *FOLLOWED THE BOOK* instead of going off the rails like other movies (cough cough Divergent.)

Some of the best places I've read + enjoying a book on the go.

Image
With spring break approaching.. I got to thinking about leaving. Going off on a trip far away from my stuffy old house.. and how during some of my trips I've always had a good book on me. I got to go on a trip once to a little beachside town (which I wont name for privacy reasons) and whilst on the beach I pulled out a book. If you've never been able to enjoy a book on a lakeside/beachside please do so. It feels so movie like. Like its so cliché that its actually enjoyable. Being able to dry off in the warm sun of summer, while reading about your favorite heros. Another good place I tend to enjoy books is in the car. As strange as it sounds. I suffer from motion sickness, but after some Dramamine.. A story is such a good thing to do while suffering from a painfully boring car ride.  Another good place is just outside in general. Going to sit outside on my porch with a good book is very relaxing and I adore the feeling. With the wind and the sun, its very relaxing and honestly a

Why reading is so important!

Image
Hi! Welcome to another blog post. Heres a little thing about why I believe reading is so important, and why I personally try to read atleast 4 to 5 books and a month. Reading keeps our imaginations active, a little gateway from the stress and struggles of real life. It also is very good for our brain health and constantly keeps adding more and more words to our vocabulary. Personally i try to read atleast 5 books and month because it makes me happy, and sometimes its much better then spending time on my phone. It helps me de-stress after a very long day on the internet.. and personally I adore storytelling.  I think no matter what you do in life, you should try and read whenever you have the chance. Its especially good for people who maybe dont read at all and spend all their time watching movies and stuff. Its also very very good for children. They can start understanding words at around 2? Its good to expose them young so they can imagine their stories with their vivid imaginations.

Series Reccomendation: The Program!

Image
The Program series by Suzanne Young is such a beautiful series, I had to reccomend it. The stories told throughout this series are all told from different perspective, there is two main character switches throughout. However this is done on purpose to tell the more complex overarching story of "The Program" why it was created, and what comes out of it.  To sum up the story, The program was created by the governement after the sucide epidemic. Teenagers began killing themselves randomly, going from happy, to deciding the only way they could be free is through ending their own life.  However the government decided the only way they could fix these children, once they got suicidial.. is to completely wipe they memories and they become whole new people.  This series is such a good read and I'd reccomend it anyday! Please check it out.. its so so interesting!
